Ethical & Sustainable Australian Brands We Love

As Australian small business owners we absolutely love taking any opportunity to support other small businesses in Australia, mostly because we find incredible, unique and creative people doing amazing things but also because we know how much it means to them to know their blood, sweat and tears are appreciated. Of course, our priority is to always find and support businesses that prioritise sustainability and ethical production, so without further ado we present our favourite high quality, low impact Australian brands.

Hakea Swimwear

With a focus on creating timeless and versatile designs at a high quality, Hakea Ethical sustainable Australian Swimwearproduces swimwear to last. Diverging from the typical fast fashion model, they reduce waste by releasing small collections on an inspiration-only basis or according to customer requests and ensure there is a high standard of ethical practice in their process. They recently made the switch to producing with Econyl; a high quality Italian nylon, recycled from ghost fishing nets and fabric mill scraps and they prioritise low waste shipping throughout their supply chain. Our top pick is the Palma top + the Santiago bottom in Clay.

Seljak Blankets

Sustainable Ethical Australian Woolen BlanketsWe have a particular soft spot for Seljak as they are two sisters on a mission to reduce textile waste (among many other amazing things!), they are certainly woman after our own hearts! Just to put it into perspective, since 2016 they have diverted 2,825kg of textiles waste from landfill and that's just the beginning of their huuuge list of achievements. Ethical practice and environmental impact are at the forefront of their mission and the duo are reaching for the stars. Our top pick is the fringed ochre blanket because that colour 😍
